To understand how a swayback looks like, try to google a picture of a horse. You will notice that the back of the horse near the pelvis or the lumbar area was like in a slight inward curve. In fact, that curve is also normal in humans because our spine is normally curved a little at the lumbar area of our back. This natural curve allows us to move freely and twist from left and right. Aside from the lower back, the thoracic area and the neck also has slight normal curve of the spine.

In the case of a swayback posture problem or hyperlordosis, the curve in the lumbar part is exaggerated or overly-swayed. To detect if you have this, all you need to do is to stand with your back against the wall and try putting your hands at your lower back area above your buttocks. Once you felt that there is so much room for your hands to occupy, you have a swayback posture problem.

Swayback Treatment

Having swayback or lordosis can be painful and patients are often given pain relievers in the form of anti-inflammatory medicine. After that, real treatment should be given to the patient by a chiropractor.

First, we have to understand the common cause of swayback. According to chiropractors, the cause of hyperlordosis is having tight low back muscles which deviates the correct alignment of the body. This is because the muscles are pulled in one direction due to incorrect posture. So in this case, what chiropractors do to correct it is to loosen the muscles that are tight and the weak muscles are to be strengthened. With this process, the swayback lumbar area may soon attain remedy.

Popular Moves by a Rockstar and Popstar – Treatment to Swayback!

One of the best treatments that you can do at home if you have a swayback is by moving your pelvis the forward and backward alternately. Yes, this is like the motion that a man does when having sexual intercourse. It is called the pelvis thrust but you can do it while you are standing. Even stars like Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson does it in their music videos.

This can be done inside of your home if you do not want to be embarrassed doing it on public. Well, unless you are performing in gala night impersonating Elvis Presley or doing some dance routines just like Michael Jackson then you can go thrusting your pelvis while working it out to correct your swayback!

Pelvis Posture Exercises – You Have to Move It, Move It!

Swayback occurs when you stand and you keep yourself in a position where your pelvis is stuck forward. With lack of movement of your hips, you may develop the same posture problem. This happens because the lower back muscles of your body tighten without moving in a long period of time.

To eliminate this posture problem, you have to strengthen the muscles in your lumbar area that are weak. A chiropractor can help you identify those muscles that you can start working out. But if you can’t find chiropractor help at the moment, you can do simple posture exercises that are applicable for your lumbar area or for the correction or lordosis.

An excellent guide to start with is the Grow Taller 4 idiots e-book which will tell you the advised exercise routines that can improve any posture problems.

Spinal disc herniation can be a painful medical condition of the spine wherein the discs are injured due to trauma, idiopathic, or lifting accident. Disc herniation can give a poor posture to the patient in order to save the bones from further damage. In this manner, the patient will not be able to straighten up or the condition will become worse.

Once someone is already experiencing disc herniation, it will not be a perfect time to improve posture. The best thing to focus on while the patient is suffering from this injury is to seek immediate treatment. After the treatment, the patient can already perform methods on how to improve his or her posture again. We also have to remember that doing exercises to improve posture can make our spine strong which prevents possible disc herniation.

When disc herniation is suspected or detected, it should be treated immediately via medical or chiropractic treatment. In medical treatment of spinal disc herniation, treatment would only start after undergoing several techniques of diagnosis such as physical examination, x-rays, MRI, EMG tests and orthopedic tests. The medical treatment involves strong painkillers. They will also require the patient for bed rest, shots, and possibly, surgery.

Disc Herniation Treatment – Chiropractic

After undergoing medical tests and review of all the medical history, the patient will undergo orthopedic tests as part of the chiropractic disc herniation treatment. First, the chiropractor will help relieve the pain by whatever treatment he has in order for the patient to feel comfort. Next, the chiropractor will start the treatment with the use of any of the following:

•	Hot compress/cold compress
•	Ultrasound
•	Electrotherapy to heal the damage and muscle pain
•	Stimulation of tissues using cold lasers
•	Manipulation of the spines

Chiropractic Disc Herniation Treatments without Drugs

The two vertebrae that surround the herniated disc of the spine are separated by a method called ‘vertebral distraction.’ This type of method for the treatment of disc herniation is done by expert chiropractors. With a motion repeated many times in this process, the herniated disc is slid back to its original position.

In other methods, chiropractors use mechanical decompression equipment that carefully pulls and causes the spine to be straightened. This comes to at least 4 treatments where the patient may feel fewer symptoms after each session until everything in the spine goes back to normal.

You may wonder what caused the herniation. Here are some of the common causes:

•	Poor nutrition which leads to poor bone nourishment of the discs

•	Poor posture that leads to uneven pressure

•	Incorrect lifting and improper bending

•	Dehydration

•	Tumors near the disc

How to Prevent Height Decrease from Disc Herniation

Once you have been diagnosed with a herniated disc, all you have to do is to prevent further damage and seek medical attention. At this time, you will be robbed of your height because your posture will be affected but you can soon improve it after the treatment.

Prevention is still the best way and to avoid having your disc herniated, you always have to maintain a good posture. Posture exercises are very helpful in making your discs healthy together with the right kind of diet to make your bones healthy. If you do this, you can prevent injuries from lifting heavy things and your bones will not easily break during accidents.

After herniation treatment, you can start improving your posture by having exercises. These exercises to improve posture will give you more confidence and energy which will make your more attractive. So start improving your posture now and learn more on how to do it by trying Grow Taller 4 Idiots e-book guide.

The consequences of aging can really become silent and shocking especially when you are not doing anything to keep yourself healthy and fit when you were young. As we age, our muscles and bones become weaker making us shrink and become shorter. This will become faster if we don’t start keeping a healthy lifestyle.

Height will decrease fast if we have posture problems. Having a poor posture as we grow can lead to pain and serious bone diseases as we age. One potential bone disease that we might acquire if we don’t correct our own posture is osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis is a bone disease wherein your bones do not receive the right amount of calcium it needs to become strong. Calcium is needed in bone growth and development. As you age, you need more calcium to prevent your bones from degradation and breaking. Osteoporosis can also give you hunch at the back and this can lead to a bad posture.

Poor posture can aggravate your life in some ways and this can be caused by bad habits of sitting or standing. Most of the common postures that can ruin your appearance and internal organs such as lungs include slumping and slouching. If this is continued, your shoulders will be rounded forward, or your neck will have a forward bend, and your chest area will become tight and closed.

Poor posture can shrink your height. In fact when you slump forward, you back starts to skew at an angle less than 90 degrees. At the worst scenario, one with a very poor posture may bend losing more than 1 foot in height. If you don’t start improving your posture, you might be losing some height little by little.

Osteoporosis and How to Prevent or Reverse It

Osteoporosis is the weakening of the bones due to lack of calcium. This makes the bones porous and easily broken even with slight fall or accidents. The vertebrae can be easily affected and it can cause further damage when no counteractions are applied.

However, osteoporosis can be detected and reversed. It is best that while your bones are still young and healthy, you have to start doing some measures to prevent osteoporosis.

Normally, a vertebrae or spine without suffering osteoporosis is shaped like a perfect wedge. But with fracture and porous bones, it will look like a wedge collapsing on one side or like plates collapsing on top of each other. In this situation, the pain begins and even more problem will start to arise. With collapsed vertebrae, you will already lose at least 0.5 inch of height.

A collapsed vertebra can be painful and it can ruin the alignment of your back. In this case, you will have a hard time standing, sitting, or do some of activities like running or lifting some objects.

At the early stage of osteoporosis, you can do some actions to reverse it. One is through osteoporosis exercises in a regular basis. If you already have a fracture, there are safe osteoporosis exercises that you can do in order to help the bones that are not yet fractured.

When a bone is fractured, the appearance of your body will be affected. Aside from that, your height will suffer and you need to prepare for possible surgery treatment in order to fix the problem.

Treatment for Osteoporosis

When it comes to worse and the vertebrae collapsed unevenly, medical attention is needed and surgery can be the best solution. However, you can still do something in order to fix and strengthen your own remaining bones in the spine and other parts of your skeletal system. Intake of vitamins and minerals, especially calcium, can help your bones to become nourished and stronger.

If you have osteoporosis, your menu must include foods with the following nutrients:

1.	Calcium
2.	Vitamin D
3.	Vitamin C
4.	Magnesium
5.	Strontium
6.	Silica

You can check online on what types of food are rich with those nutrients mentioned. Multivitamin and mineral supplements containing those nutrients that can be bought in drugstores and health shops are also advisable in order to double your dose for your skeleton.

Posture improvement exercises, specifically osteoporosis exercises are great work-outs that can help improve your posture and strengthen your bones. With the Grow Taller 4 Idiots e-book guide, you can gain great knowledge and insights on how these exercises can improve your overall posture!

It is normal that anyone with posture problems will feel some discomfort and pain. On the worst scenario, the posture can be permanent and can ruin your body form accompanied by swelling and body inflammation.

By having an incorrect posture, not only your confidence will be affected but also your energy and strength.

Our body is designed genially with all the functions of it working interconnected to give a person the wellness it deserves to live. Even one little function goes wrong can cause some unpleasant events to the body and when it gets worse, it will lead to dysfunction of some body systems.

Daily body maintenance is important and this can be done in a daily basis. This will replenish your body from damages and even build your body to become better and stronger as you age.

Promoting good posture is one of the ways that you can improve your body and maintain its functionality. This can be attained by setting a goal to make your bones and muscles stronger. Once you already got the habit of maintaining a good posture, getting taller is truly possible.

What are The Causes of Poor Posture that Makes You Shorter?

There are many factors that can cause poor posture. Most of them are diseases which can be corrected without surgery or medication. Here are the most notable ones:

•	Poor muscle tone
•	Slumped shoulders
•	Osteoporosis
•	Scoliosis
•	Knock knees
•	Bowleggedness
•	Disc herniation
•	Steroids

Most of the musculoskeletal disorders and other problems mentioned above can be reversed especially when they are diagnosed early. By correcting these problems, one can add a few inches to his or her height and get taller.

Who Can Detect Musculoskeletal Disorders?

Regular physicians may have an idea about these problems but they cannot be sure about it so they are going to refer you to a medical expert called the chiropractor. A general physician normally has a little background about this topic so you have to consult the chiropractor when it comes to problems about uneven hips, uneven leg lengths, and other musculoskeletal problems.

The Challenge of Having Uneven Hips

Not all of us are born with hips with equal length or size. Unfortunately, some are challenged with having uneven hips which is not only a threat on the appearance but also on the health of the person’s spine.

When a person’s hips are uneven, the pressure on one leg will be different with the other because of weight and gravity. If this is the case, the other half of the body will pull the other and this will cause a deviation in the curve of the spine. The risk of having scoliosis in this case is high especially when the person is malnourished or undernourished.

How to Know If the Hips Are Uneven

Just by doing some physical observation, you will notice if a person has uneven hips. After the diagnosis of it, you can also try to see what is causing it. Here are some of the possible causes:

•	The pelvic bone on one side of hips is undeveloped

•	The muscles that are attached to the pelvis are not developed

•	There can be a disease on one side of pelvis

•	Hip or pelvis arthritis

Knowing that the hips are uneven and its cause needs immediate physical check-up from a medical expert. A physician may be called for first check-up or you can go straight to chiropractic. They may administer some chiropractic care. A physical therapist may also help in the situation.

Why Posture Improvement is needed with Uneven Hips

When sitting, it is important that we sit properly because putting our weight unevenly when sitting can damage the tone of buttocks muscles. In any physical condition, we have to remember that posture improvement is always necessary. Aside from that, weak buttock muscles can cause some physical problems too, such as PMS on women.

When you sit, always remember to keep an even weight on your body and buttocks or your spine will be misaligned and become scoliosis. Sit straight on a chair and keep your body erect while your buttocks touch the seat. Remove any big bumpy object on your back pocket when sitting, such as wallets, face towel, and so on.

The tone of your body muscles can influence the way you stand, sit, or walk and therefore; it can affect your overall posture.

Having poor muscle tone can create poor posture. This means that it can affect your spines which may give you back pain, neck pain, and other feelings of heaviness and discomfort. So in order to correct your poor posture, you must start working out in improving your poor muscle tone.

Poor Muscle Tone Defined

When there is lesser capability for the muscles to support themselves then the condition is referred to as poor muscle tone. It can easily be noticed when the person has a poor posture. Here are some of the implications of bad posture caused by poor muscle tone:

•	Slumped shoulders

•	Jiggling and hanging free underarms

•	Belly that protrudes

•	Shapeless thighs

•	Noticeable love handles

How Poor Muscle Tone Can Rob Height

Poor muscle tone is one of culprits for giving a person a poor posture. Laziness can be the main cause of weak and poor development of muscles but people can have so many excuses, such as—

•	Wrong kind of chair
•	Tiredness at work
•	Depression and sadness
•	Clothing and shoes
•	Slumping to relax

For instance, a man who is tired at work makes it a habit that when he goes home he switched on the TV and sit there for hours slumping. This can be a very good excuse but it can seriously create poor muscle tone and bad posture. This kind of attitude of avoiding to improve posture is a sign of idleness.

What Are the Advantages of Having Good Muscle Tone and Correct Posture?

Give yourself time to improve your muscle tone and correct your posture by working out. Just give a little effort and soon you will be glad with the changes in your life.

•	Whatever the chair is, you can already sit up straight without exerting effort and the feeling of discomfort.

•	Even if you are tired, you can still sit up straight and that makes your look dignified because your muscles are strong enough to support you.

•	With a good muscle tone, you are always at a good posture which can eliminate depression and sadness because many people will look up at you and see you as a confident person.

•	With a healthy body, you will have lots of energy to do daily activities. Aside from that, your body will be strong enough because you are well-trained.

•	Even if you are tired at work, you can still relax and sit in the proper way even watching your favorite TV show.

What you need is to commit yourself to reach your goal to have a better muscle tone and improved posture. This can be done with work out in health clubs, gyms, or you can build your own mini-gym at home. There are also routines that you can do at home without even using some equipment.

The Benefits

Do not be afraid to go to the gym and do your first work out. Your will start to be conditioned for the next work outs once you begin your work out as soon as possible. Here are the benefits that you can get once you started eliminating poor muscle tone:

•	Release of endorphins in your body will increase which will make you feel relaxed

•	You will attain extra blood circulation which is healthy for the entire body system

•	You will look more alive and blooming

•	Energy levels will increase which is a good thing for your personality and productivity

In contrast, people who have poor muscle tones and still refused to work out are just trying to make things worse in their body. If they continue with their habit of posing poor posture, they will have more difficulty in relaxing and getting energized. They will have poor flexibility, tight muscles, and some pains in different parts of their body when they do some daily activities. Aside from that, they are more prone to injury and their bad posture will make them look shorter.

From now on, start planning your own posture improvement exercises or you can look for the best guide that will teach you advanced and precise work outs that will both improve a person’s posture and muscle tone that can add some inches to your height! Try Grow Taller 4 Idiots today!

Having knock knees or bow legs is another posture problem although this time it is not on the spine but on the legs. Unlike others who have straight and long legs, people with knock knees or bowleggedness seem to have curved legs. Men and women having bow legs or genu valgum may find their legs unattractive so they usually cover it by wearing jeans or long pants.

How to Know if Someone Has Knock Knees?

1.	Try to observe a person’s legs when he/she is wearing short pants and they should stand with feet together.

2.	Look at the ankles. If the ankles are not touching each other then there is a problem.

3.	Look at the knees. If the knees are not touching each other then there is a problem.

4.	If there is a noticeable space between the upper or lower legs then there is a problem.

When standing with feet together, legs are considered to be in a normal shape when –

•	The ankles should touch each other
•	The knees should touch each other
•	There is no unequal distance between the ankles or knees
•	When knees are knocking each other abnormally

The Difference of Knock Knees and Bowleggedness

A person with leg posture problem has knock knees when the ankles are not touching each other but the knees are knocking each other abnormally. The legs seem to be at an angle towards each other which causes a bend inward making the knees to knock with each other.

On the other hand, having bow legs can be the opposite of knock knees though they are both leg posture problems. A person with bow legs has ankles touching each other but with knees far apart. In this condition, the legs form a diamond shape because of the outward angle of the knees. People with severe cases have legs so curved that looks like two bows forming an oval.

Causes of Knock Knees/Bowleggedness

As a child, we all have leg posture problems because it is a part of our early physical development. In this process, our skeleton was just developing and this is normal in a growing child. In fact, most growing kids who just started to walk have knock knees especially when they are at their 2nd or 3rd year. They walk with knees knocking each other.

As we grow up, we get involved in different physical activities such as cycling, sprinting, running, or simple walking. These activities can correct the bow legs or knock knees that we have as a child as we grow. At the age of 5 and 6, it is important that kids are involved in activities like these because it is the normal stage where the leg muscles are developed and the bones become stronger. As a matter of fact, doctors start treating knock knees when they see it on children beyond 6 years of age because they know that it is no longer normal.

Other Causes of Knock Knees/Bow Legs

Vitamin D Deficiency or Rickets – when Vitamin is lacking in a child’s nutrition, the child may develop a disease called ‘rickets’ which makes the bones weak. Signs of skeletal deformities are seen in patients where their legs look like bows as if they have ridden a horse all their life.

Osteomyelitis – also known as the infection of the bones, wound on it is usually blamed on depressed immune system of a person. When there is no wound on the flesh surrounding the infected bone, it can be a question to where it started. Because of the person’s weak immune system, microorganisms are said to travel and infect the bones. This disease is considered as a serious condition which needs medical attention and can cause serious knock knees when not treated.

Vitamin C Deficiency or Scurvy – Connective tissues are important in our body in order to grow with healthy structure. With the lack of Vitamin C in our body, the connective tissues will be badly affected which in turn cause weak connections between bones, muscles, ligaments, and even cells. If you notice signs and symptoms such as nosebleeds, listlessness, pinpoint hemorrhages, bruising, anemia, joint pain, bleeding gums, shortness of breath, weakened tooth dentine, and slow healing of wounds; you have to immediately see a doctor for it can already be Scurvy.

To prevent children to acquire knock knees or bow legs while young, make sure that you nourish them with foods rich in vitamins and minerals. It can be hard to have knock knees not only because of the difficulty in walking but it can also rob height and your child may become embarrassed from the appearance brought by this condition.

If you have knock knees or bow legs now, you have to start seeing an expert for check-up. To have a correct posture is an advantage and to learn how you can improve your posture, Grow Taller 4 Idiots is a great guide to start with.

We have heard of stories about jobs and how different people deal with the challenges at work. But maybe, you have already heard about people having a bad posture after staying so many years in the job they are already used to do.

Some job requires work to be done that can cause damage to a person’s posture such as factory work, babysitting, or even office work. You may stand in hard floor all day and forget to stand the right way because of tiredness. Some may be wearing shoes that seem to be uncomfortable. Some work may even require continuous reaching of objects, looking down, or sitting which can make you forget about your poise. With constant slouching or bending, we sometimes fail to notice that we are no longer maintaining a good posture. Over time, this can become a threat to our posture and our height.

Your supervisors may not be focusing on your posture because they are focusing more of your performance, quality, and sales. The key on how to improve posture while at work is in your own hands. You are the one who should always be aware if you are already standing or sitting in a correct posture or not.

Job-related Posture Changes

If you will notice, some jobs can be physically demanding and they can ruin our posture if we neglect to watch our own actions. We can’t blame our jobs on why we developed a bad posture but rather we are to blame because we neglected maintaining a good posture on whatever job we are doing. Some of the common posture problems developed in any job includes the following:

•	Locked knees due to standing for a long time.

•	Forward head for looking down or in using the computer.

•	Curve at the back of the neck.

•	Tightness felt around the clavicle area.

•	Soreness in upper back and muscles of the neck.

Examine your job and how you move during work time and then ask yourself if you have been keeping the right posture all the time.

How to Correct Your Posture at Work

Correct Sitting Position

•	When sitting, make sure that you back and buttocks touch the corner of the chair. This means that you have to move far back as possible to keep your spine straight.

•	You can use commercial lumbar support pillows. This stuff is really helpful in supporting your lower back.

Using a Lumbar Support Pillow

•	When picking a chair, make sure you get the one with armrests on it so that your arms can also sit comfortably.

•	You need a friend to look at your position as you sit in front of your computer. Tell them to remind you if you are looking up, or if you have a forward head and hunched back while sitting.

•	Every hour, check the position of your shoulder if it is still at the right alignment with your entire body.

When Standing at Work

•	When buying shoes, choose the ones that are made comfortably for standing which also fits your job requirements.

•	You can ask the management if they can have shock absorber padding for long hours of standing. This is advisable especially when you are working inside a concrete-floored area.

•	At least every half hour, try to do some simple exercises to loosen up your shoulders, arms, and legs. For example, you can do shoulders squeezes discreetly while at work.

•	Stretch your arms backwards as often as you want.

•	When you first start the job, do some neck rolls at once in one hour.

Now that you know what to do to maintain your good posture while at work, you can also share this knowledge to your family members, friends, and your co-workers. They will surely be benefited with these posture exercises.

One in every two hundred males and two or every one hundred females are suffering from scoliosis. Scoliosis can start in teen years and there are so many theories on truly causes this condition.

Scoliosis is the curvature of the spine and scientists have been saying that it is mainly caused by poor nutrition which affects the spinal bones. Manganese deficiency is said to be a common cause for scoliosis because this mineral is essential for the body’s connective tissues which comprises the tendons, ligaments, muscles, and bones. It has been an important factor in the growth of these body parts.

Aside from Manganese, these connective tissues also need other essential nutrients in the form of vitamins and minerals. These vitamins and minerals include Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin D, Calcium, Magnesium, Silica, and Zinc.

With the deficiency of these nutrients, the spinal development will not become strong; therefore, it can make the spine more fragile which is susceptible to curvature or scoliosis.

Scoliosis Defined

What is scoliosis? Scoliosis is a condition wherein the spine develops a curvature. So instead of having a straight normal spine, one with scoliosis can have a spine shaped like S or C which can give some pain in the back.

A curvature is called scoliotic if the curve is 10 degrees and above. If the curve is below 10 degrees, the spine is referred to as ‘asymmetrical’ and not yet scoliotic.

Scoliosis can be considered as mild, moderate, or severe also depending on the degree of curvature. Here is how they diagnose the level of scoliosis:

MILD – 30 degrees and below
MODERATE – 31 to 50 degrees
SEVERE – 51 to 60 degrees

But this is not all, scoliosis does not only mean the spine’s lateral deviation but we have to learn that the spine may also be ‘twisted. This is because of a knob-like part of the spine which is called the spinous process. This knob can twist to either clockwise or counterclockwise and it can make the degree to even worse. Some with twisted spine can have a level of 65 degrees of scoliosis!

Scoliosis Treatment for Kids

If you have a child with curved spine, you must bring the kid immediately for check-up. A child with 10 degree or more spine curvature can become alarming because it can already affect his or her internal organs which include the lungs.

Usually, the doctor will prescribe the child with scoliosis to wear back braces for support and spine straightening. This can be an ordeal to the child but it is needed in order to correct the curvature. Children may fear this treatment but you have to explain to them the importance of the back braces. Here are some of the reasons why kids fear wearing back braces:

1.	It prevents them to move around and play around just like the other kids.

2.	Some kids may make fun of the appearance with braces.

3.	The braces may be worn for as long as 23 hours a day.

4.	The brace can become uncomfortable to the skin.

Although the braces are worn, it is not a guarantee that scoliosis development will stop. It may still progress which means that braces may or may not help. However, it is also worth a try.

Surgery is another option to cure scoliosis. In this process, metal rods are inserted in the spine and this can be painful. As the child grows, the child may undergo another surgery like this.

Alternative Treatment: Scoliosis Exercises

Experts on spines from the chiropractic field have developed some treatments for scoliosis in the form of exercises. This plan includes the following:

1.	Spinal Distraction which means stretching the spine back to its original conformation which can also correct the twisting of it.

2.	Daily extensive exercises.

3.	Retraining the muscles through exercise which may hurt at first.

4.	Nourishment of the connective tissues by taking nutritional supplements.

5.	Regular appointments set to monitor the treatment of scoliosis.

Through this method, success stories have been told.

Preventing Scoliosis: Exercising and Maintaining a Good Posture

Aside from eating the right food and taking supplements, one must always remember to practice good posture and do exercise regularly in order to maintain a healthy spine. Here are some bad habits that you should avoid:

•	Slouching when sitting whether at the office doing work or at home watching TV.

•	Consistently looking down while walking.

•	Not moving for a long time slumping at a chair.

•	Tucking the pelvis at the wrong angle.

Simple posture exercise can save you from spinal problem especially if you are living a healthy lifestyle and keeping the correct posture while sitting, standing, or walking. Grow Taller 4 Idiots e-book guide can be a great start in living a healthy life and taller height through exercise.

If you have seen a camel, you will see that the humps are there but compared to a person with a hump, camel’s is a normal thing. A person with a hunch can become unattractive and that person can have a hard time trying to make it straight simply because he or she lacks the knowledge of posture exercises.

Having a slight hunch at the back can be a posture problem called kyphosis. Kyphosis can be treated and corrected by regular posture exercises. So if you don’t want to be called a camel then you have to learn about how you can improve your posture and eliminate kyphosis.

Kyphosis Defined

Kyphosis is simply the deformation of the upper back because of spine curving. The curving of the spine is due to bad habits of slouching or due to practice of incorrect posture.

Kyphosis can definitely decrease someone’s height because of the curve. If this condition is corrected by straightening the spine, a person can add some inches to his or her height. A person can have different severity of kyphosis and they can even be like the “hunchback of Notre Dame.” But it can be corrected through posture exercises if it can be seen early.

How to Avoid Postural Kyphosis

Kyphosis due to bad posture habits or postural kyphosis can be avoided and can be corrected. If you have seen camels and you do not want to like them then this is the time that you improve your posture before it gets even worse. If you are a growing teen and you think you have no kyphosis, maintain a good posture and keep on exercising to prevent the development of kyphosis.

There are so many instances that a person can unconsciously develop postural kyphosis. One is by not sitting erectly at a chair. When you are at work for example, you tend to sit with your tailbone away from the chair and this leads to slouching which is a bad sitting habit. When you do this over and over again, you will unknowingly develop a hump in your back. Staring at the computer with too forward head will not only damage your eyes, but also your spine. This will create a forward head which is also a cause of kyphosis. Remember to always maintain a good sitting postion whether you are in the office or watching TV.

Kyphosis Exercises for Better Posture

For the treatment of kyphosis, you have to understand that you really need to spend some time to correct it. So the key here is to enjoy the kyphosis exercises that you will do daily. Below are two examples of the routines that you can start now.

The Scapula Squeeze

The shoulder blades also called as “scapula” is the body in this exercises. To do this, squeeze your scapula by pulling your shoulders backwards. This will strengthen your upper back muscles which will correctly align your spine.

The Neck Exercise

With a forward head, you have to train your neck to be aligned with your body. In this condition, the spine is more bent in the neck area and so we have to correct it with this neck kyphosis exercise. In order to do this, you have to:

1.	Bring your neck carefully down to your chest. Next, slowly bring it up towards the ceiling.

2.	Now while facing front, slowly turn your neck to either right or left side and then hold it on that position in the side for seconds. Then slowly turn your neck back to the front. Do it on the opposite side.

3.	Bring your ear down towards your shoulder either left or right. Then go back to the front head position again. Do the opposite.

Now that you know some of the exercises to prevent and treat kyphosis, you can start to make them a daily habit. However, there are still lots of advanced Kyphosis exercises you can find on the Internet. Try Grow Taller 4 Idiots today. This is the right time to learn them and start improving your posture!

Everywhere, we can see people having poor posture. Not all of us are aware of the proper ways of sitting, standing, or walking and this bad habit leads to curves and deformations of the backbone and neck that leads to a bad posture.

What creates concern about having an incorrect posture is that it makes a person physically unattractive and it gives an impression to people that they person has little self-confidence. Aside from the fact that it does not look good, slouching and strutting a bad posture will cut off some of your true height.

So before you become shorter and shorter because you keep on slumping and slouching, this is the time that you train yourself on how to project the correct posture. It is easily said than done but by creating a good habit of exercise and practicing the correct posture in your every move, you can achieve the right posture that will make your more attractive and taller.

First, Look at Your Reflection

Being aware of your appearance is the first step in your posture correction. You cannot correct anything unless you are aware of the problem. So first up, you have to look and examine yourself in front of the mirror and see if you are having posture problems. Look at the picture of celebrities and models then compare your own posture. From here, you will realize if you have a forward head, a hunch, or any of the posture problems.

The Frontal View Posture

Stand in front of the mirror with your feet closed. Observe your ears and see if they are at the same level. If they are not then there must be a problem on your spine.

Now try to observe your shoulders if they are at the same level. If one is higher than the other then you have to correct it. You must have a spine problem but you don’t have to worry because posture exercises can solve these problems.

Look at your waist and hips next if they are aligned or if one side is higher than the other. They should be of the same level. And the last thing to look at is your knees and ankles. If you can see that there is a large gap between your knees then you must have a bow leg. Bowleggedness is something that you should correct.

If you see unevenness out of these body parts then you must be practicing an incorrect posture for a long time or you might have been suffering from scoliosis. You need to start exercising or have a physical check-up just in case you are feeling pain at your back.

The Side View Posture

Even if you don’t go to the doctor first, you can already see if you have a posture problem by looking at the side part of your body in the mirror. Your friends might have already told you also that you have a posture problem by looking at your side. Now, in order for you to be aware of your own posture, get a mirror and look at either right or left side of your body.

When you stand straight at your side, the middle part of your ear must be in line with your shoulder, hip, and ankle vertically. If you are making an effort to do this alignment and you are not standing the normal way you used to stand then you must have a posture problem. Try standing the way that you used to stand comfortably. In this manner, you can see if you are standing with the correct posture or not.

While standing with your side view in the mirror, try looking at your belly and your back. If your stomach is protruding then try to make it look sexier by straightening your body more. If you feel a strain in your back and some effort in doing this then you have a posture problem because you are not used to it. This is also true if you see that you have a slight or severe hump or hunch in the back. If you feel some strain while trying to straighten your body then you have to start doing some posture exercises in order to correct some problems.

Now, look at your head. Is it a bit more forward? Is your neck strained when you try to pull your head backwards? If your answer is yes then you have a forwards head – another posture problem that is needed to be corrected. You may not be aware of this before but this needs to be corrected if ever you noticed it now because this simple problem can rob you of your height and attractiveness.

Have a Good Posture with These Simple Posture Exercises

Back to Wall Stomach In

Stand against a wall with your back, head, and ankles touching it. Make sure are not wearing any foorwear while doing this.
Now, put your hand behind your back and there must be enough space for your hands. If you notice that there is a larger space for your hands, you may have a swayback. Swayback posture is something to be corrected. So what you are going to do is to let your stomach in by squeezing and contracting it inward. Do this repeatedly at least 15 times while breathing.

Back to Wall Belly Motion

Lean on the wall but with your feet 4 inches away from it. Make sure that your buttocks, head and back touches the wall. Make your knees lax.

What you are going to do is to tip your pelvis back and forth which means you have to squeeze your stomach in order to bring your spine on the wall. This will simply eliminate the space between the wall and your mid-back. Go back to a relax position where the space at your back is present again. This exercise may take some practice so do these 15 times. This will also solve your swayback problem.

Chair Exercise

Move your tailbone as close to the chair when you are sitting. If you keep on doing this, your posture will improve fast. Now, contract the muscles of your stomach in and out for about 15 times. Repeat this action by using other chairs in your house. If you are at work, you can always do this while working in a desk or in front a computer.

Improving your posture needs extra time and patience but it can be worth it. Here are some benefits that you can achieve if you gained a good posture:

•	Believe it or not, you will feel happier which means having a good mood with good posture.

•	Pain or strains will be lessened once you are used to having a correct posture.

•	People will see you as more confident, taller, and attractive.

So if you want to know how to improve your posture and learn some more advanced techniques, using the Grow Taller 4 Idiots e-book guide will be a perfect your perfect start!
