Your posture has a lot of something to do with your height right now. This also affects the way you grow and the health of your back. Achieving your maximum height means giving importance to your posture. Therefore, you have practice the habit of having a good posture in any activity to maintain your real height.
In order to attain good posture all the time, you have to be conscious about it by standing and sitting straight. To make it more natural and permanent, performing posture improvement exercises regularly can help giving you a better posture.
Now, knowing more about your spine structure will give you more understanding about the role of correcting posture and exercises in improving your height.
When you are standing, your spine is naturally in an S form but it is considered correctly aligned when the S curve is not too obvious when it is running straight from the head to the center of your torso. The more it is stretched, the taller you will look. In contrast, if you have poor posture, the spine will look more curved in any of the S directions.
Wrong way of standing and walking will have an effect on the shape of the spine. Just like a person who tilts the pelvis too forward has the tendency to develop a “swayback” which is not a good posture. This habit will give so much stress on the back which can wear down invertebral discs in the spine. This will definitely decrease your height.
Having a poor posture alone will make a person look shorter than its actual height. The solution here is maintaining the right posture at any instance. But sometimes it is not easy to do for other people because the neck, back, and other muscles are no longer in shape. In order to fix it, certain efforts must be done in order to achieve having a natural good posture.
Strengthening these muscles into their appropriate positions will give the person the natural ability to resist poor posture habits like slumping. This will decrease the pressure in the spine and this will make you taller.
Here are three grow taller exercises that can help you achieve a good posture:
Bowing Down to Yourself
This is considered one of the simplest height increase exercises. This technique which you can do always anywhere can improve your posture and stretches your upper back muscles.
First, sit down into a chair while keeping your back straight and head facing forward. On the floor, your feet should stay flat. Now, lower your chin slowly to your chest and then take three long breathings before raising your head back to starting position. Repeat this routine as often as you can.
Ear to Shoulder
You can follow the Bowing Down to Yourself routine with this exercise. Just like it, this will also help give you a good posture and also stretches your muscles in the upper back.
This exercise specifically targets the muscles through the sides of the upper spine and neck by stretching them. This will help you in holding your neck in a position where you pose a good posture. This is beneficial in your effort to grow taller.
To do this exercise, sit in a position with your spine straight and feet on the ground. Take a deep breath. As you exhale, roll right ear towards your right shoulder.
Now, take another deep breath and then roll your chin to your chest as you exhale. Take another deep breath and then roll your chin but this time to your left shoulder. Lastly, take another deep breath and then roll your chin back to your chest this time.
Take in mind to be stead and slow when doing all those movements. Inhale deeply while doing these exercises. Repeat the routine for at least 3 times more.
Turkey Stretch
While you do this exercise, you can feel right away the stretch which lengthens the back of the neck. In having a good posture, the neck plays an important role also which leads to height increase and good health for the body.
To do this, sit on a chair and you have to keep our spine straight and feet flat on the floor. Imagine an upward force that pulls your head towards the ceiling. Look on the area in front of your nose and focus on it. While doing that, raise your hand to your chin and then take a deep breath. Rest your hand on your chin while breathing out gently.
While you exhale, push your chin lightly into your neck until the back of your neck feels the stretching effects. After exhaling, stop and then repeat the entire routine. Do these like 3 times at least.
